RESEARCH & PROJECTS

To describe the overall research interest in what I am doing: How does corporeal movement – as singular person or in a collective – generate and transform cultural signification?

movement
We move all the time. Movement moves me as being in this world, be it on my own initiative, be it through sociocultural coercion, mostly both. Moving myself transforms me, mostly unnoticeably, but in the aftermath, looking back, I realize the personal movement I have done. I move with others. We all transform, constantly, but where to?

space projection
Moving myself, I project space. It is not a measurable space but a phenomenal space that goes ahead and in which I step, which is gone when I start stepping into it because it transforms into the next projection of space.

spacing
the spaces I project are not in a continuity, like in one space after the other. Much more, it is a process of space transforming through and with my movement, merging with others, spacing a collectivity in which we move.

bodying
In these collective spacings, we emerge as bodies, as moving bodies. Emerging as a body is a process to. Always present, never really there, I don’t have a body, but I am bodying into a present continuous.
